Out-of-State Title Transfer

I moved to another state. What is the process to transfer my title to that state?

Contact the DMV to inquire on registering your vehicle. The DMV will then send Suncoast a request for the paper title.

This can be faxed to 813-626-9096 Attention Titles or Mailed to: Suncoast Credit Union, P.O. Box 11904, Tampa, FL 33680, ATTN: LOA006.

What is the fee?

The fee is $8.04. This covers the cost to order the title and send the title via Certified mail. New York state residents, add an additional $5.00 for the Lien fee.

How do I pay this fee?

We can debit your Suncoast savings or checking account or you can mail a check, payable to Suncoast Credit Union, to Suncoast Credit Union, P.O. Box 11904, Tampa, FL 33680, ATTN: LOA006.

When will the title be sent to the DMV?

The process takes up to 30 days.

How will I know when the DMV has received the title?

Suncoast will include your contact information with the title. The DMV will contact you once the title request has been received.

What does the DMV do with the title once it has been converted?

  • If it is an electronic title state, the title will become an electronic title in that state with Suncoast as the lienholder.
  • If it is a paper title, the title will be mailed to Suncoast Credit Union.
  • If it is a state that sends the title to the owner of the vehicle, the title will be made to the member and a notice will be sent to the credit union.
