Give a Hoot About Saving During Youth Month!
April is National Credit Union Youth Month, and we are ready to celebrate! We’re helping our young members get excited about financial literacy all month long with contests, giveaways, opening account matches and fun learning activities.
“I Give a Hoot About Saving” Essay Contest
Students have a chance to win a 12-month $500 Youth Share Certificate in our financial literacy essay contest. There will be a winner chosen in each grade set -- elementary, middle and high school.
Write an “I Give a Hoot About Saving“ essay describing what you are saving for and why. The word count varies for each grade set.
- Elementary School: 100 words or less*
*Parental assistance is ok, if needed
- Middle School: 250 words or less
- High School: 500 words or less

One lucky winner from an elementary school, middle school and high school will be awarded a 12-month $500 Youth Share Certificate to go towards their saving goal.*

Get $5 for Opening a New Youth Account in April
Suncoast will match your student’s $5 deposit when they open a new youth savings or teen checking account* in April for Youth Month 2017!
New accounts can be opened at any Suncoast service center or student run branch.
Students will receive a Give a Hoot About Savings notebook when they open a youth savings account and a Suncoast wallet stand when they open a teen checking, while supplies last.
*All minor accounts, 17 years or younger, require a joint owner who is a parent or guardian..
